295: Lead with Intention Through CORE Leadership with Miki Feldman Simo

In this episode of Work from the Inside Out, I speak with Miki Feldman Simon, an executive coach and author whose career journey is anything but linear. From her early years moving between Israel and Australia to taking on leadership roles in HR, operations, and marketing, Miki’s story highlights the power of exploration. Her path shows that careers are often shaped through curiosity and the willingness to try new things.
Early in her career, Miki explored paths that ultimately did not suit her, including fashion design and economics. Rather than seeing these experiences as failures, she reflected on them as important lessons. This viewpoint became a foundation for her growth. Over time, she built a career grounded in curiosity, adaptability, and a deeper understanding of what truly mattered to her.
At the center of Miki’s work is her CORE Leadership framework, which focuses on clarifying values and priorities, operationalizing intentions through habits, reflecting on internal patterns, and evaluating one’s impact on others. What makes this framework effective is its practicality. It provides a clear structure for turning self-awareness into action and emphasizes that leadership begins with leading yourself.
One idea that stands out is the distinction between what we do and who we are. Many people focus on achievements and responsibilities, but spend less time considering how they want to show up. Miki encourages us to ask a simple but powerful question, who do I want to be right now. When we take the time to clarify our values and strengths, we gain confidence and direction, especially during times of transition.
For those navigating a career pivot or considering what comes next, Miki offers a clear starting point. Pause and reflect on what matters most, what success means to you today, and how your strengths can be applied in new ways. From there, small and consistent actions can lead to meaningful change. Fulfillment comes from leading yourself with intention and building your path from the inside out.
